Big Bang
The euro will be introduced in Slovakia on 1st January 2009 simultaneously in cash and scriptural form without a transitional period with a Big-Bang scenario. On this date the euro will become legal tender in the Slovak Republic.
The euro will be put into cash circulation from 1st January 2009. The koruna will become merely a denomination of the euro. Slovak euro coins will be valid in all eurozone countries. Banknotes are the same throughout the eurozone.
